Role

Motion Designer – Prototyping, Animation & Video Editing

Our team initiated a proactive pitch to Harley-Davidson, proposing a customizable motorcycle experience via an interactive digital platform. While the full application was still under development, we needed a compelling mock-up to showcase the concept during the client presentation.

Challenges

Incomplete Product

The customization service wasn’t ready, so the entire concept had to be visualized using a static mock-up.

Tight Turnaround

With the presentation day rapidly approaching, we had limited time to go from concept to delivery.

Workflow Constraints

An external agency provided the mock-up in Figma, and the initial plan was to animate it using traditional motion tools—which would have required extensive file conversion and setup time.

Last-Minute Direction Change

Just one day before the presentation, the presenter requested a more casual and engaging video format, even though the design was still in flux.

Ongoing Feedback

Final design patches were being delivered up to the very last minute, requiring continuous editing and animation adjustments in real time.

My Contribution

Proposed and implemented a direct prototyping approach within Figma, bypassing the need to transfer assets to After effects—saving significant time and keeping the process fluid.

Built an interactive step-by-step prototype to simulate the product experience for the pitch.

Handled all motion design, editing, and polish for the final video, adapting on the fly as design changes came in.

Delivered a fully-edited video just minutes before the presentation deadline.

Figma prototype

I opted for a prototype-based approach and integrated videos as the most time-efficient solution, given that the rest of the interface was still being updated. The prototype was designed not just to showcase the video, but to give the client a realistic preview of how it would function within the final product

Role: Motion graphics designer.

Once an element is selected, it needed to be visually highlighted to indicate user interaction. Below are the visual options that were explored to achieve this.

go with after effects

Due to a last-minute shift in direction the day before the presentation, we had to pivot from a clickable prototype to a classic video format to better suit a more casual, story-driven pitch style.

To synchronize multiple actions efficiently and minimize the number of keyframes, I used trigger markers directly on the timeline in After Effects.

triggers spread away

This method not only improved precision and control but also significantly sped up the animation process. It proved to be so effective that I later adopted it as a workflow standard in other fast-paced projects.

Integrating Missing Hotspots

Role: motion design, VFX

Since the 3D model didn’t include interactive hotspots at the time of the pitch, we needed a way to clearly demonstrate how the concept would work in the final product. To solve this, I used motion tracking to overlay the missing hotspots directly onto the video. This allowed us to present a more precise and convincing representation of the intended functionality—bridging the gap between static design and interactive experience.

Role: motion design, VFX

we successfully pivoted to a video-based presentation, delivering a polished and engaging preview that captured the essence of the concept.

The final video not only met the client’s expectations—it helped secure their interest and move the project forward.

The clarity, flow, and storytelling in the preview played a key role in winning the pitch.

Outcomes

Time-Saving Innovation

he decision to prototype directly in Figma proved highly effective, allowing for rapid iteration and real-time updates.

Adaptability Under Pressure

Despite the last-minute shift in presentation format and ongoing design changes, the final video was delivered on time and exceeded expectations

Client Success

The client responded positively to the pitch, and the concept was successfully sold—validating both the idea and our creative execution.

Process Evolution

This project introduced a new, more agile workflow to our team, which was later adopted for similar fast-paced initiatives.
